Reflecting on my experience at the Virtual Leadership Academy, it is evident that it has influenced my leadership abilities. The online course taught me essential leadership skills, including emotional intelligence, ethical decision-making, time management, and team collaboration. I could apply these skills in a group project where we presented a business analysis.

 

I applied the SMART plan I learned at the Academy for this project. The plan was essential in establishing clear, measurable, actionable, relevant, and time-bound goals. Our team identified specific business problems, used data metrics for measurability, sought achievable solutions with our resources, stayed relevant to the task, and followed a strict timeline. Following the SMART objectives led us to deliver an effective presentation. This experience helped me develop a broad range of skills. I learned essential soft skills, such as conflict resolution, consensus building, and effective communication. I also gained tactical skills, such as setting SMART goals and detailed workload planning. As the project manager for the presentation, I could put the SMART plan into action. Setting specific goals helped us establish clear objectives, and measuring progress against those goals kept us on track. We achieved a successful presentation by following a strict timeline and tying our tasks to the end goal, which emphasized the time-bound nature of our SMART plan.

 

I learned valuable time management strategies from the course. For example, I used SMART planning techniques to manage multiple deadlines across various teams and classes. I set specific timeframes for task completion and ensured they were measurable and achievable. This aligns with the SMART goal of efficient task management. The skills I gained from the Virtual Leadership Academy influenced my plans, goals, and overall experience. The SMART plan has transformed my leadership journey. It helps me set clear, specific goals that align with my broader ambitions.
